Megastar Amitabh Bachchan took cognisance of the Marathi Abhimaangeet in his speech at the 83rd Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan in Pune. It was sheer coincidence that I was in the wings listening to his speech having NO idea that he would mention my name and the Abhimaangeet in his speech. I was speechless when he referred to the poem LAABHALE AMHAAS BHAAGYA as the Marathi Abhimaangeet, because that was the term I had coined for the song. And then in a matter of seconds he mentioned how he came across the song on YOUTUBE. When he mentioned my name, some people standing in the wings along with me recognised me and started clapping and Shri Sudhir Gadgil, the compere got the whiff of my presence and immediately took me with him on to the stage. What followed later still appears like a dream.
Thanks to television, I now have the moment captured in time.
