Information :-

Jait Re Jait is considered to be one of the greatest musical hits of all time in Marathi cinema.[citation needed] This movie was produced by Usha Mangeshkar & Hridaynath Mangeshkar, under the banner, Mahalakshmi Chitra. It was directed by Jabbar Patel and has Binod Pradhan as it's Cinematographer. It is based on a book by G N Dandekar.Though the music achieved all-time hit status, the film was a box-office disaster.

This story revolves around a tribal caste called 'Thakar'. The hero is a drummer and a divorced lady falls in love with him. However this is not a simple love story, this film tries highlighting all the traditions of Thakar caste.

The music was composed by Hridaynath Mangeshkar with lyrics by N D Mahanor and performed by Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Usha Mangeshkar, Ravindra Sathe and Chandrakant Kale.

It was the debut film of Smita Patil and Mohan Agashe.

The songs from this film are popular in Maharashtra. It has won five Maharashtra State Awards.
